Mental Health in the Workplace

This is a one day course for senior management, team leaders and staff.

The main focus of this course is to provide information and tools to managers and supervisors to support and manage staff and volunteers with mental health conditions.

In addition there will be a session on identifying mental health issues which staff and volunteers may be experiencing.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Identify the main signs and symptoms of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and psychosis.
  • Describe the processes for managing and supervising staff and volunteers with mental health conditions, including managing disclosure
  • Explain how to manage volunteer and staff absence as it relates to mental health issues
  • Identify appropriate return to work processes and support, including reasonable adjustments.

Suitable for

Managers or HR staff who supervise or provide welfare advice to staff and volunteers.
