    This specialist Shelter seminar will guide delegates on how to analyse and use housing caselaw appropriately to underpin homelessness applications, investigations, decisions and reviews.   3. Tenants Fees Act 2019

    This training will cover the new restrictions on fees payable to landlords and/or agents and the amount that a tenant can be required to pay as a deposit. One in seven renters pay £500 or more in letting fees. The Tenant Fees Act aims to remove most of these fees, but there are important exemptions. These are key issues for anyone advising people on renting in the private sector.

  4. Suitability of Accommodation

    This course will provide delegates with a better understanding of the suitability of accommodation which has become increasingly important following the Localism Act 2012 that has enabled LHAs to discharge into the private rented sector. The law in this area is constantly changing due to legislation, statutory instruments and an influx of cases including a Supreme Court case. This course will give advisers, both working for LHAs and otherwise, the confidence to decide whether accommodation being offered is suitable.
