This course will equip delegates with the tools and techniques to build and maintain high levels of personal resilience and support peers to create their own personal coping strategies for managing increased workloads and demands on their capacity.

  • Definition of resilience
  • Why resilience is so important in the current economic climate
  • Benefits of resilience in the workplace
  • Self assessment of your current resilience levels
  • Key techniques to increase including purpose, perseverance and self-reliance
  • The development and science behind the concept of mindfulness
  • How to incorporate mindfulness techniques of 'present centredness' and de-cluttering into your working practice
  • A range of techniques will be covered, including activities that will allow you to apply the concept of mindfulness and the opportunity to practice a short meditation. Delegates will be encouraged to approach the session with an open mind and try as many techniques as they feel comfortable to do so.

Meet the trainer

Annie Clarke is a Learning and Development specialist who works across the charity and commercial sector. She specialises in undertaking OTNAs to ensure organisations are delivering cost effective and relevant learning solutions. She also works with organisations to support their management and team development. Annie began her career in the charity sector by working for the young person's homeless charity Alone in London. Since then she has held a variety of roles such as Head of Learning Development at the Institute of Fundraising and Talent Development Manager at The Children's Society. Annie was also a leadership trainer for London 2012 and is a qualified MBTI practitioner for Step 1 and Step 2 and is currently studying for her MBA with the Open University. Annie's sessions combine participative and reflective activities to ensure learners can takeaway and implement practical solutions.
